Park Adventurer

I've been spending my days crawling through tunnels, climbing over bridges and riding down slides with my son.

For a person who doesn't walk independently, my little guy knows how to navigate a playground.

Crawling and climbing are all he needs to explore.

Forget the thrills of the baby swing. While other tots enjoy the back and forth motion, my boy scopes out nearby soccer and baseball games, kicking his legs and reaching out towards the players.

The older children gravitate towards a "fire engine" jungle gym that has two steering wheels. And so does my baby. He holds onto a steering wheel so that he can stand and smiles at the 4 year old next to him pretending to drive.

So far my favorite part of the park is the "drum circle". There are little drum-stools of varying heights. While we bang on the different drums, he stands with hands gripping the drum for support and bounces up and down to the beat.

Afternoons at the park, time spent in the fresh air and sunshine, lead to long naps later in the day (for both of us:) I love these days!
