A First

My first Mother's Day was lovely.

My amazing men and I spent the afternoon at the Getty.

We enjoyed lunch in the cafe, eating at a leisurely pace.

My husband and I reflected on the past year while my son alternated eating his finger foods and dropping them onto the cover of his stroller.

On previous visits my husband and I meandered along the garden walk.

For this visit, my son's first, we raced around the sculptures and stretched out on the grass.

In the Expressionist Wing, I viewed the familiar masterpieces as a parent. For my son's wide watchful eyes, I pointed out boats, dogs, and children in the paintings.

Spending time with my family. Each of us happy and healthy. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
