Lately, I've been hearing some stories trickling under the door of my toddler's room.
Stories and songs, I should say.
Sometimes the stories are familiar re-tellings of books.
Sometimes the stories are imagined dialogue between two trucks or two of his friends.
The songs are usually a combination of his favorite refrains.
Sprinkled in these moments are pauses and laughter.
Usually this happens just before he falls asleep at night or in the early morning when he is awake and waiting to start the day.
Winding down like a toy or unfolding like a flower, he reveals so much of himself in these moments.
And my heart whispers, "Always stay open. Keep sharing aloud".
