Something had been missing from my life over the past few weeks.
I looked online. Nothing.
I chatted up co-workers for recommendations. Nada.
Weeks of devouring piles of magazines did not quench my appetite.
I needed a good read.
So a few days ago I went back to the basics and walked the aisles of the library.
Empty-handed from searching through fiction I meandered around the "Biographies" area.
There I stumbled upon a modern day memoir written by a surgeon.
The inside flap read, ".. a journey into the heart of a world that is hidden and yet touches all of our lives".
Sounds like a good read? Absolutely. The story gave me three nights of absorbing bedtime reading.
Feels good to be back in the land of books.
